Why Tell Stories?

Storytelling is what makes us human. We are the only living creature who has the ability to communicate through stories. Storytelling can foster inclusion and connection to others, build personal confidence and bring about change in our communities.

Story Room Aus allows audiences to connect to a storyteller; whether through humour, vulnerability or simply being open. Expect to laugh, cry and perhaps be transported to new and unfamiliar places. Stories bring communities together, creating a sense of belonging among those who may think they have nothing in common with others. The experience is uplifting for the storyteller and the audience.  

Come along and meet new people in a safe and friendly environment. Enjoy conversations and refreshments in the industrial-inspired in the hip, new Bucketty's Brewing Co. at Brookvale and at 7 pm the room will come alive with stories, as six storytellers from different walks of life share their life experiences based on a theme, changing monthly.

As the saying goes, everyone has a story. Perhaps you’d like to challenge yourself to step out of your comfort zone and tell a personal story. Story Room Aus welcomes you.
