Benefits of having a pet
The saying “A Dog is Man’s Best Friend” has a lot of truth to it. People love their dogs, or their pets and why not, they seem to make them happy. Interacting with animals has amazing effect on the body, it causes changes in oxytocin and in beta endorphins, which in turn has a knock-on effect in so many ways. In fact, it is not just dogs, but many different pets have profound effect on humans.
I grew up in Sydney and was fortunate to have a menagerie of animals and reptiles, including a rescue dog, galahs, cockatoos, lizards and on a larger scale, 3 horses. They were all important members of the family and they helped us to learn the importance of responsibility.

Keep you fit. Exercising the dog has so many benefits for the owner. Getting out in nature, in the fresh air. Walking outdoors in turn helps to improve cardiovascular health.
Helping to make friends. Dogs seem to attract people to them and hence a conversation starter. When I was single one of my friends gave me a dog lead for my 50th birthday and told me to take the dog for walks and meet someone... lol thanks
